MRH Service Procedure

Our Procedures

MRH controlled oven used during gasket removal and curing

01 — Debonding

Old gaskets are removed using a specially controlled oven. The temperature is raised steadily to 200°C so the adhesive becomes tacky and the gasket can be removed. Up to 250 plates can be processed at one time.

MRH chemical cleaning tanks

02 — Chemical Cleaning

Plates are treated in specialist chemical tanks. Sulphamic acid removes rust, steam deposits and organic products, while a heated caustic bath removes fatty acids, oils, non-organic matter and excess adhesive. Plates are neutralised with water and pressure washed.

Plate inspection under ultraviolet light

03 — Crack Detection

Plates are inspected using dye penetration in a dark room under ultraviolet light. Failed plates are removed and can be replaced with genuine manufacturer parts.

Controlled oven used for gasket curing

04 — Regasketing & Oven Curing

After alignment checks, plates are held in a jig and oven cured for three and a half hours at 15% above the heat exchanger's maximum working temperature. Each plate is then checked again for alignment and excess adhesive.
